Overcoming habits.
Unlocking value.
Line organizations are less and less able to meet today’s business needs.
Dynamic cross-functional collaboration is required to unlock value.
This requires flexible handling of new content, new roles and new people.
Not a strength of the human being, a creature of habit.
Overcome this hurdle. With reports bringing everyone up to speed. With workflows driving collaboration. With visualizations creating alignment. With a platform leveraging cognition.
Flexibility vs. habit is only one of multiple areas where the requirement profile of business and the performance profile of the human brain diverge. The following table shows other areas where alignment between brain and business would create massive value.
| Business requirement profile | Brain performance profile | |
|---|---|---|
| Flexibility | Habit | |
| Issues larger 5 bit | Working memory 5 bit | |
| Written | Pictorial | |
| Non-linear | Linear | |
| Large group | Small group | |
| Collaborative | Self-effective | |
| Entrepreneurial | Loss-averse | |
| Global (distributed and delayed) | Local (here and now) | |

Brain & Business.
Unequal partners.
The human race has spent more than 95% of their 2.5 Mio. years history in the middle of the food chain. Humans lived in fear of predators and fed of plants and small animals. The inheritance of this evolutionary adaption lives on in our brains: strong visual pattern recognition, risk aversion, overgeneralization, and preference for small groups.
In contrast, the formative influence of business lies in the parts-per-thousand range of our evolutionary history. No wonder that the performance profile of the brain and the requirement profile of business are worlds apart. Our collaboration platform “translates” business requirements for the brain. It plays on the strengths (e.g. pattern recognition) and counteracts the weaknesses (e.g. decision biases).
What is the effect? Much improved performance of individuals and teams. Especially when facing the greatest challenge: change.
